UPDATE
1. Assassin REMAKE
DEVELOPER'S COMMENT
Hello heroes, this is Develop S.
I’m here to discuss the details surrounding the remake of the Assassin.
I would like to tell you in detail the direction we decided to take in the future while preparing for this remake.
We are determined to avoid a remake solely for the sake of novelty.
We started using the title “remake” with the idea that we would change skill designs if necessary. Here, “if necessary” refers to the needs of players and the necessary means for the development team to provide enjoyment to said players.
However, as the process continued, the meaning of “remake” changed.
In a hurry to show a new look, we didn’t fully consider what players really wanted.
In short, we became excessively greedy.
In the future, we will review the agenda more carefully.
Our primary goal is the enjoyment of our heroes.
Among the various classes of Dragon Nest, Assassin is the most actively played. There are many classes that are quite lonely in comparison.
I think the charm of the Assassin class is that they can move quickly and respond to various situations.
However, given that this game is an RPG, imbalanced battle situations can only wear down the user base.
We, therefore, aim to rebalance this class in a manner that makes use of its individuality and suits its action style.
This remake focused on improving the design of skills that added no value or were too difficult to use.
We hope that this remake will provide a great deal of enjoyment to your adventure.

CHANGES - CHASER
The aim of changes to the Ripper and Raven classes was avoid requiring useless actions.
In the case of Ripper, players were forced to use survival utility skills for attacks.
[Awakened Passive] Burning Coal is a parrying/evasion skill that uses ash to attack enemies and reduce the cooldown of Crippling Punisher, so it had to be mixed into the deal cycle.
[Awakened Passive] Counterattack seemed to be a reasonable skill at first glance, but it did not suit actual environments in which move skills like Tumble needed to be used in a timely manner for pattern avoidance.
Ripper can now use attack skills for attacking and survival skills for survival.
For [Awakened Passive] Burning Coal, we removed all additional effects and only left cooldown reduction effects and the character’s location movement specifications that are based on control input variations.
We supplemented the [Awakened] Burning Coal effect restoring Crippling Punisher’s cooldown by having a successful main skill landed after Class Mastery recover Crippling Punisher’s cooldown instead.
We also changed [Awakened Passive] Counterattack to [Awakened Passive] Dedicate Crow. Now the cooldown buff Dedicate Crow can be activated for a longer time.
|
Skill name | Skill Description |
Flame Drag | Charges forward and kicks the enemy with stored up flame energy.
※ Shortened the build-up movements and removed additional control inputs. |
[Awakened Passive] Dedicate Crow | Modified the effects of [Dedicate Crow]. |
[Awakened Passive] Crippling Punisher | Use of [Crippling Punisher] activates [Awakened] Crippling Punisher and [Awakened] Beast Swipe. ※ Added a design allowing Crippling Punisher to be used for attack purposes whenever the Crippling Punisher’s buff effect is activated. |
Raven is by far the class that requires the most clicking to use skills in Dragon Nest.
As much of the damage was concentrated in Guillotine Cross, additional control inputs had to be carried out constantly for all main skills to acquire Plunder points. Sorry we made your hands hurt, heroes.
First, we changed the [Awakened Passive] Chain Combination.
Now Chain Combination is a skill that consumes [Plunder] points rather than accumulating them.
[Plunder] points can be acquired by using Star Combination, and Applause and Punishment are enhanced when a certain amount of points are accumulated. Once the required amount of [Plunder] points are reached, Applause and Punishment will be converted to the enhanced versions without any additional inputs.
Because Chain Combination is now a skill that consumes [Plunder] points, we were required to change the design of related skills somewhat as well.
Guillotine Cross no longer consumes [Plunder] points and has a longer cooldown than before. That said, the enhanced versions of Applause and Punishment have shorter cooldowns after successfully hitting an enemy target.
|
Skill name | Skill Description |
[Awakened Passive] Chain Combination | Increases combat skills when using Chain Sickle. Damage increase of stabbing attack - 50% of Applause and Punishment attack power
※ Now Applause and Punishment will be enhanced automatically without any additional control inputs once the required amount of [Plunder] points have been accumulated. |
CHANGES - BRINGER
We modified Light Fury and Abyss Walker in an attempt to make the deal cycle more significant.
Light Fury had to be able to play a greater attack role while also being used to support party members like Physician. However, its party support and attack capabilities were the most lacking among classes with party heal abilities. We took the following measures to compensate for that lack of ability:
We carried out an overhaul of main skill cooldowns so that these skills can be used in conjunction with each other a little more than before.
We created an Enhanced Passive version of Full Brightness EX and removed the former Chakra Energy EX sill.
Even if Ring Strike hits the enemy, the speed of descending to the ground will no longer be reduced.
Ajna-related skills have been simplified, but their effectiveness has also increased slightly.
Upon learning [Awakened Passive] Ajna Squad, Light Fury summons cats, raccoons, and rabbit ninjas at the same time. While participating in battle and attacking enemies, the ninjas will sometimes use survival buffs that help party members. This use of survival buffs cannot be controlled by Light Fury.
Simplified the actions of Ring of Energy and added an effect that increases ally attack power upon enhancing it to [Awakened].
|
Skill name | Skill Description |
[Awakened Passive] Ajna Squad | Enhances [Summon Ajna] to summon a ninja army made up of cats, raccoons, and rabbits. The raccoon and rabbit ninjas attack the enemy with martial arts while using buff skills that support allies. [Raccoon ninja] Uses a buff that decreases allies' received damage by 20% Duration: 15 sec [Rabbit ninja] Uses a buff that restores 2% of allies' HP every 2 sec Duration: 10 sec |
[Awakened] Ring of Energy | Enhanced into an [Awakened] skill. Focuses chakras at the caster's fingertips, then releases them to attack enemies and form a chakra barrier around the caster. Allies shielded by the chakra are buffed. 26068% ATK Allies' received damage reduced 50% Allies' ATK increased 10% 10 ally debuffs removed |
Abyss Walker was already modified before, but the play control wasn’t particularly good.
Much of the damage dealing was concentrated on [Enhanced] Illusion Strike and [Enhanced] Abyss Strike, which could only be used during use of [Awakened] Summon Shadow. The play pattern became too monotonous as a result because it would be detrimental to use other skills when transformed into Abyss.
We, therefore, modified the cooldown and attack power of main skills, redistributing the repetitive play pattern and damage ratio concentrated on one Illusion Strike EX.
In addition, we modified Illusion Strike so that it only increases attack power and [Abyss Force] points acquisition while maintaining [Awakened] Summon Shadow and no longer decreases cooldown.
Abyss Strike can now deal the same damage regardless of whether [Awakened] Summon Shadow is being used.
You can now use Abyss Strike without any sense of burden, even without Abyss activation.
Finally, we changed the usage conditions of Night Explosion EX Instant so that you no longer use a deal cycle that relies on probability.
|
Skill name | Skill Description |
Class Mastery Ⅱ | Physical attack power increased 25%. Use of [Shadow Focus] enables use of [Night Explosion EX Instant]. [Night Explosion EX Instant] Activation Duration: 5 sec Cooldown: 1 sec Night Explosion EX does not share the same cooldown as Night Explosion Instant
※ While decreasing the usage rate of Night Explosion EX, we also guaranteed its usability. |
[Awakened Passive] Summon Shadow | Enhances [Summon Shadow]. While a clone is summoned, absorbs abyss energy to activate [Abyss] status. During Abyss status, movement/attack speed is increased and an enhanced version of [Illusion Strike] can be used. Move/attack speed up 20% Illusion Strike up 100% [Abyss Force] activation amt increased to 2 Duration: 20 sec
※ Abyss Strike now deals the same amount of damage, whether Abyss status is activated or not. |
CHANGES - PHANTOM
Though Bleed Phantom required the consumption of HP to reset the cooldown of the [Cruel] skill, this was not a fair setup. It created a semi-forced play pattern, and due to this, Bleed Phantom’s level of pure force was very low.
We, therefore, removed many restrictions on the cooldown reset function while also decreasing the reset frequency.
Bleed Phantom transformation no longer generates Bubble points, and the [Cruel] skill does not consume Bubble points.
Now, use of [Cruel] generates [Bloody Brand] points, and [Crimson Nova] is activated once a certain number of [Bloody Brand] points have been accumulated.
The [Crimson Nova] skill deals damage to surrounding enemies while also restoring the cooldown of [Cruel] skills 100%.
We also greatly increased the attack power of all main skills.
|
Skill name | Skill Description |
Bleed Phantom Transformation | Blows up the power of inner darkness to transform into [Bleed Phantom]. While transforming, attack speed increases and the abilities of [main skills] and [Painkiller] are greatly enhanced. When using [main skills], 1 [Bloody Seal] is acquired each time, and when 20 are acquired, the [Bleed Phantom Transformation] skill transforms these into a [Crimson Nova]. [Crimson Nova] restores the entire cooldown time of [main skills] when used. n% ATK Attack speed up 20% Transformation Duration: 900 sec Crimson Nova ATK - 700% of Bleed Phantom Transformation |
Crimson Nova | Uses [Bloody Seals] to reset the cooldown of main skills. n% ATK [Main Skill List] [Pass Away], [Madness], [Soul Breaker], [Top Suffering,] [Lethal Torture], [Phantom Drive] |

Modified the Skill Designation of Various Skill Items
